Midday Supervisor Vacancy
Orchard Primary School is currently looking to appoint a caring person to join our team of Midday Supervisors
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: The role involves being able to work 11.55am-1.05pm Monday to Friday term time only.
Additional hours as a relief Wrap Around Care Supervisor (paid at Grade 5 Point 7, currently £11.97 per hour, pending review), may also be available on an adhoc basis to cover absence or increase in demand. This could include mornings 7.45am to 8.35am or afterschool from 3pm until no later than 6.00pm. Please confirm if you would be interested in this opportunity
Salary: Grade 4 Point 5, currently £11.78 per hour (pending 2024 pay review for support staff).
Duties of the post:
- Supervising pupils throughout lunchtime, ensuring that the children eat meals safely and behave appropriately both indoors and in the playground
- Assisting with the setting up and clearing of tables in the dinner hall
- Interacting with the children and encouraging positive social skills during indoor or outdoor play
- Overseeing the safety and wellbeing of pupils and the adherence to the agreed school procedures.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a good level of general education;
- Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individua who will bring a sense of energy and passion to the role;
- Be able to use their initiative to work independently and flexibly;
- Be a person with good interpersonal skills who can form positive relationships with both pupils and adults, and work effectively as part of a team;
- Be someone who is able to show empathy and flexibility towards the children in their care;
- Previous experience as a Midday Supervisor is not essential as training is given. However, it would be desirable to have experience of working with children (either paid or unpaid capacity) preferably in an education setting.
