At Orchard Primary School, we are passionate about developing a love of PE, sport and physical activity. We recognise the important role that physical education plays in supporting the health, wellbeing and personal development of our children.
We believe that a broad, balanced and high-quality PE curriculum, alongside opportunities to take part in extra-curricular sport, can have a positive impact on children's confidence, concentration, teamwork, attitude and achievement.
We are committed to ensuring that all children receive a minimum of 2 hours of PE and physical activity each week, delivered through high-quality lessons led by our teachers, alongside support from specialist sports coaches where appropriate.
School Games Mark – Platinum Award
We are delighted to have achieved the Platinum School Games Mark, recognising our continued commitment to providing high-quality PE, school sport and physical activity opportunities for our children.
This achievement reflects the enthusiasm and dedication of our children, staff and parents/carers, all of whom contribute to making PE and sport such an important part of life at Orchard Primary School.

Sports Day
Children across KS1 and KS2 take part in Sports Day during the summer term. Both events have an athletics focus and provide children with the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have developed throughout the year.
Sports Day also provides valuable opportunities for leadership and responsibility, with older children supporting the organisation and running of events for younger children.
Children earn points for their House Team throughout the event, with the Sports House Cup awarded to the winning House.
What Clubs Do We Offer?
