Internet Safety

At Orchard Community Primary School we recognise the importance of eSafety. As such, we follow a scheme of work provided for us by CEOP.  This provides the children with the information they need to stay safe online.

Do your children have access to the internet at home?

Do they have Internet enabled devices such as phones, tablets and laptops?

Do they have ability to access the internet via games consoles - Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus?

Do you know which sites they are accessing, who they are messaging or talking to and more importantly, what the PEGI age restrictions are for the games they play?

When we spoke with parents about the use of social media, they were surprised by how many new social media platforms were available and marketed towards children - many of which they had never heard of.

We provide lots of information on how to use all these aspects safely and responsibly, making decisions based on solid information at an age appropriate level.

If your child accesses the internet, it is important for you to know how to keep them safe.

Here are some links to websites that you may need or find useful.
